Verizon Arlington

Verizon in Arlington

Arlington, VA is often meant Arlington County. This part of the northeast was originally given to the United States government by Virginia. So, in February of 1801, the area became known as Alexandria County and was deemed a subdivision of the District of Columbia. Then, in 1846, the area was returned to Virginia – at the time called a ‘commonwealth’. They changed the name in 1920 to Arlington so there would be no confusion with the nearby city of Alexandria. It sits on the south bank of the Potomac River. This makes it directly across from D.C. Interestingly; it is the smallest county in the United States which is self-governing. The population was about 200,000 as recently as 2010. Because it is so close to the state capital, many people with excellent jobs live in the area and make it one of the richest counties in the USA.

Verizon is certainly a key player in the local Arlington telecom service providers. They have much experience because it originated many years ago as one of the ‘Ma Bell’ companies that turned into ‘Baby Bells’. So many changes have occurred since then that it is hard to track, but most importantly, there have been some major changes and advancements that will be helpful to the consumer. It may be worthwhile to take a look at what kind of offers Verizon have as they are the largest wireless provider. They also have TV, internet and phone services.

When it comes to monitoring what is happening in the home TV and HDTV offerings, fiber is the secret key. If a company has fiber to deliver, there will be some great at home entertainment in store for you. Verizon has their FiOS offer and it is special because it delivers fiber all the way to your door. You can expect something like upwards of 500 channels and you could also have 180 music channels and even 95 hi-definition channels to boot. This may even include 10,000 on demand programs that you can watch any time you’re ready. Their partnership with DirecTV helps to make the offer more robust.

For phone service, Verizon is able to deliver the goods. You’ll find standard POTS but also have the choice of VoIP. With the fiber line from the FiOS service, you’ll get clear and sharp call quality with some packages even offering unlimited local and long distance calls. In addition, Verizon teamed up with Microsoft to create ‘Verizon Web Calling’. This is a VoIP ‘Windows Live Messenger’ offering to complement your Voicemail, Caller ID and Call Waiting services.

If you love to speed around the internet at hyper speeds, FiOS will make you smile. You’ll get great speeds that nobody can beat and for a really great price as well.  Home entertainment lovers and those that love to watch a sports game on HDTV will be in heaven with some of these offers.
