Pro: No choice Con: monopoly

My comcast bill for internet went up $20 a month and I have no way of seeking an alternative because ATT (which I had thought the antitrust people had taken care of years ago) and comcast have a monopoly in the St Augustine area. Where aren't our federal anti-trust and consumer protection laws being enforced? Both of these companies charge criminal (my opinion) and unconscionable (my neighbors' opinions) rates and the consumer has absolutely no choice. This is not to mention their numerous illegal tying contracts that require you to purchase from them other equipment and services.- you either don't want or would like to purchase elsewhere. I myself would use the free public library computers and do without Comcast but my family member insists on having internet at home.

Pro: Money extraction Con: Left elderly people without any services to call for help.

My 83 year old Father changed to "Comcast" for his phone, TV, and internet service. They disconnected ALL existing services and left cables all over the floor and did not return. He had paid $269.00 for equipment and installation And $79.99 for service that he never received. He called from the neighbors and was on hold for an hour before he was disconnected. He had a heart attack and died and my 89 year old Mother was unable to call for help. I called "Comcast" Monday ,the day he died, and they said they would try to get to it on Thursday. He had been without service of any kind for almost a month. He paid and received NO service. I wish bad things for "Comcast". Imagine taking their money, leaving the elderly with no communications service, AND the cables all over the floor.

Pro: speed, customer support, price! Con: None

Nothing beats Comcast's prices when it comes to internet. As a college student, signing up with Comcast was a no-brainer!

Pro: best when you're not signed up with them Con: not enough room here to write everything

No wonder this is the most hated company in America. Never before have I encountered a company who outright lies and deceives its own customers like Comcast does. For fifteen months I had the same recurrent technical issues with my cable/broadband internet/telephony bundle from Comcast. When it did work, the reception was by far inferior. When it didn't work, which seemed like every other day, I was paying them for services I never received. And they bamboozeled me into a two year contract with a substantial early withdrawal penalty clause which wasn't explained to me until after they got me to agree to it...how's that for snake oil? SO after 15 months of excuses, the latest one is my building is wired with the "old" type of cable, and they've been using the "new" type of cable for years. I have a top flight A/V componentry set up and they're now blaming everything on lousy coax cabling wired in my apartment building? Besides, they have a monopoly here in this part of the country and there's no other option if you need cable broadband internet. I don't want satellite...it isn't allowed in this complex even if I did. My advice....stay far away from Comcast if you have another alternative. Otherwise...you're f*cked!

Pro: It's reliable Con: Internet download speed terrible

Paying for 12Mb/s internet download speed. In the afternoon and evening the download speed goes down to 1-3Mb/s. Can't stream much of anything. Don't know how Comcast can live with this, but doesn't seem to bother them at all. Terrible, but no alternative in this area.

Pro: Speed and service Con: customer service

If it wasn't for comcast's customer service I would be giving them a 5 star. The speed is great for what i need and the tv package i love. Any problems or questions though, forget it. The customer service is the most unhelpful i have ever known, they do not seem to be able to answer even the simplist of questions. Get the customer service sorted Comcast.

Pro: new customer offers Con: customer service is the worst

The internet service itself is not bad, good speed and the price and promos offered to new customers are great. The customer service on the other had though is absolutly b/s. They were charging me for the wrong promo to begin with and when I phoned up they apparently did not have the code, so i phoned back the next day to cancel and what a suprise!! they had the code. Am still loooking to change providers as I do not want to deal with a company who has such bad customer service.

Pro: Fast Con: Not getting what I am paying for

Comcast internet itself is great....when it is actually up and running. I've signed up for the top premium service but I am not getting it. The speed keeps slowing and is really unreliable.

Pro: 27.13 Mbps Con: None so far

Looked at my Verizon bill, $63/mo with the "high speed dsl", about the same I'll be paying after the promotion runs out in month 13. Did someone say "magic jack plus" for a low $2.52/mo (prepayed for 6 yrs.) for the next six yrs local and long distance phone service, plus I keep my same phone number. So bottom line, 9 times faster Internet, about the same money as before.

Pro: Good Reliability, decent support Con: Bandwidth Limit, variable speeds

Xfinity does Ok in the speed department. Sometimes it can be pretty fast (when the speedboost is active) most of the time it is just fair. No problems with having a connection in my area but speed can vary considerably. Installation sucked because they had to use another company's pre-existing lines instead of their own lines (too much interference). Few times I have had to deal with customer service since has been great. Came out and cleaned lines and local cable box without even a problem reported.

Pro: Never any problems in 1yr. Con: I think everything is expensive

I've had the Xfinity setup for 1yr. its been very good if not great (theres no competition from anyone else in the area) since I bought My own cable modem and cisco 3000 router, this is My first Mac and its very fast and I've had things screwed up a few times on network setup and have been able to get good help with fixing problems, all My fault, but I just think that it's a little bit expensive, although I'm quite happy with Comcast in general. I would probably have a better set-up if I would just have an expert come set it up professionally, but thats to expensive, (se what I mean, is it just Me) so I'll live with it, it's fine. I've had streaming video with no lag from netflix and the live news feeds always good, Ive learned a lot has to do with My computer so I try to keep the junk to a minimum and try to only run 2-3 programs at a time. On the test I had 26m download and 3.8m up, I don't know if thats good or bad but all seems well to Me.

Pro: faster speeds for lower price Con: set up service is still a pain

New to the area and previously streaming netflix over Verizon DSL, we were loyal to Verizon, but the lowest price product they offered us here was over double the price of Comcast! We were told Fios doesn't have a "basic package". In the end, for less than $20 per month, Comcast tests out at 24Mbps down and 3.82 Mbps up during peak hours.

Pro: Usually good download speeds Con: Throttling of upload speeds

My upload speeds are tested at or near 3 to 4 Mb/s however when I send large files to my Drop Box they throttle my upload speed to 300Kb/s. That is unacceptable and I am trying to get a customer service rep on the phone that knows what I'm talking about.

Pro: service people in field excellent Con: always get a runaround when calling CS

I just read a review before mine, ditto on the one star rating. I had Comcast for years with no complaints, however since I started to hear "Xfinity" in the advertising, as this was phased into their product, I feel it is a different company, and I am shopping for a new internet provider, hate to give up a "bundle" with home phone, but Xfinity is so bad, I lost all features I used to enjoy, ALL of them, I just don't want any part of them anymore due to all the [negitive] changes, Customer Service is now the WORST!!! I am only stuck with this service because it takes forever to get a hold of them, and usually after all the effort, I get cut off, dozens of times!!!

Pro: Speed, consistency, bandwidth Con: Price

I switched to Comcast Cable Xfinity recently and while I was underwhelmed by the skills of the technician that installed the connection and the online technical customer service I received via chat - the performance of the connection is unquestionably superior. Best bet is taking the self service set up because for the amount of time I spent online with technical support it would've been easier to just do it myself. I was out of town and Comcast performed the set. When I returned home their were issues but the cause was improper software set up by the tech. All in all I'm glad I made the switch.

Pro: None Con: Everything from the Installation

Having had comcast for a couple of months now I already want to cancel my contract. The speeds are awful and certainly not what i signed up for, trying to contact customer support you just get passed from one department to another. I have an internet and tv package and even the tv channels and jumpy, it has caused me nothing but hassle and I just want out!

Pro: Speed is consistant Con: Download cap

I haven't found my comcast service to be too bad, it is certainly better then the provider and package i was with before. The price per month is a bit costly but the connection speeds are consistant and the service is reliable. The only main problem I found is the cap on downloads.
