Pro: speed, price
Con: no
This is one of the smallest broadband companies in my area but the service is top-notch. Decent speeds and great pricing makes for a happy customer. Centurylink definitely does internet the right way!

CenturyLink is the Worst
Saturday, October 20th, 2012
Pro: None
Con: Customer Service, Internet Service
The only thing worse than the customer service at CenturyLink (when I first signed up they gave me the wrong phone number and proceeded to blame me for the problem) is their Internet service. It is slow, many times less than 1MB down, and it just quits working as many as 7 - 10 times per day. I have to reboot the router each time and wait for it to come back up. It will then work for anywhere from 20 minutes to a couple of hours, and then it stops again. The feeble attempts by their technical(ly inept) support is no help. The outages happen frequently but not on a regular basis for them to catch it so their answer is they will probably never be able to fix it. They have the billing down just fine. No interruptions or outages when it comes time to take my money. I have no choice for Internet service, (which is why they could care less if my service works) but if you do, never, ever, ever sign up with this awful company.

Worst company i have ever dealt with in my life
Tuesday, June 26th, 2012
Pro: There was 2 nice customer service people
Con: EVERYTHING ELSE
So as this horrible experience started I moved my home phone number to vonage to save some money and to get their most expensive internet and highest speed 40 Mbps. Once the number was transferred I called them up to upgrade my internet and they told me a account cancellation was in order. I asked why or if it could be stopped and the person said they didnt know why and could not stop it. Few days later our internet was shut off completely. We called to get it reconnected and they said they could not for 30 days we tried to find out why or get this time span changed and got nowhere. We tried again in a few days and delt with the worst suprivisors ever not only could they not help they completely treated us like thieves for trying to switch our home phone when we wanted to buy their most expensive internet plan in its place. We had to call over 5 times and none of their customer service could help till the last that said for some reason the system wont let them reconnect our line but we could sign up as a new customer. Annoyed and angry we told them fine do that and guess what it took 20 days to get them to plug it in for the bogus reason they had to send a tech to install a phone filter so we cant use the line with a home phone. We had to use a cricket 3g internet adapter for a month just to have any form of internet which is required to have a home phone through vonage. After the long wait and finally getting the internet hooked up it worked fine for 1 week then low and behold the internet was dead without reason. We dealt with customer service again and they told us it would take around 10 days to send a tech to diagnose the problem... But finally we had a customer service lady who thought that was wrong so she called and got the days bumped down to about 4. So when the tech came and said the line had been disconnected by "mistake" in their phone node and they plugged it back in. The internet working again would be a good thing right? Wrong a month later the internet died mysteriously again and so here we were on the phone again with customer service and they again told us 7-8 days to fix it. The lady worked with us and called the techs directly who said they had time in 2 days to fix it. They didn't know why the system said 8 days. When the tech came they said our line wire had been physically cut and they fixed it up for us without further issue and even came to our house and checked our box to be sure that would fix it. Explain to me how JUST OUR internet was unplugged and physically cut and all our neighbors internet was fine and they use century link too. By far centurylink is the worst company i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. We had to fight them on everything just to get them to do their job. I cannot even believe they are still in business when they treat their customers like a bunch of manure. Wouldnt surprise me if the suprivisors who were a complete and total a holes to us were the ones who unplugged it and cut the wire. Its like the only qualification to be a suprivisor at century link is treat customers like worthless manure and dont by any means try to help them, just let them be pissed and rub it in their face that century link is the only provider offering the speeds you need. Truly i wish i was making this up atleast then it would be a funny story, but sadly its true and oh so bitterly true. Cut your losses and just go with any other company. Pay more if you have to its worth it! Even when our internet works we never get near our 40 Mbps connection, we are lucky to get 15 Mbps to 25 Mbps. We never were able to get that promised 40 Mbps, or even the promised 1.5 Mbps upload speed. I never thought i would miss qwest but atleast they kept our internet up and had nice customer service if it stopped working. Sure they were overpriced but it worked which is worth it! If you have to pay a bit more for internet from another company do it by all means you will thank yourself in the future!

$9 internet at $79 what a deal ????
Saturday, June 23rd, 2012
Pro: Easy to sign up.
Con: The internet is awful.
Do you remember when about 10 years ago started with dial up service that costed about $9.00. You could never get on and when you did it would take for ever. Well this is exactly what you will be getting. Fist bill of $140 for a $39.00 dollar deal. This is buyer be ware, this company is a scam.

Century link doesn't care about it customers!
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012
Pro: None
Con: Lie, cheat you out of money, unreliable
Ive been a customer with quest/century link for almost 5 years. On my most recent call to century link, i was told in order to move my services (which is internet, because they charge too much for everything else) i would need to buy another new modem, which i already bought a few years back. For some reason, which they could not explain, the modem i have which has worked just fine in every other place iv lived, won't work in our new apartment. The supervisor refused to speak to me, he was passing messages back and forth between the representative, finally after asking to be transferred several more times, i was transferred to another one of the managers in salt lake city whose name is Mauricio. Mauricio called me a liar, saying that noone would have ever told me that buying one modem would be acceptable, according to Mauricio most people replace their modems yearly..... which i know is false cause noone is going to spend $100 bucks a year, these aren't things you throw away every time you move. The internet i will be getting at the new apartment is exactly the same as the one i have now, but they tried to lie to me to get more money out of me. Whenever i told Mauricio that, he threatened to terminate the call if i kept disrespecting him. What a joke. I would rather pay more money with a different company that doesn't lie to me and screw up my bill on a monthly basis then deal with any of the people at century link. They simply do not care about their customers weather you've been with them for a day or ten years, you do not matter. You are just another stupid consumer putting money into their pockets. Save yourself some time, and go with someone else. You will be highly disappointed and frustrated by the time your done dealing with century link.

Pro: picture quality very good
Con: terrible internet, tv features inadequat
Never again! I was lied to by salesman. Features promised not delivered. Pricing almost exactly matched Cox ... all advertised savings are bogus. Modem/router could not deliver contract speeds, had to hardwire my old router to get nearly acceptable service. National help desk rep was a jerk. Install destroyed my Cox wiring ... told by Century Link it was my tough luck (national help desk). Prism repair rep was very nice! Having entire system removed after less than 24 hours in service, mainly due to all of the lying by everyone except the Prism repair rep. I am probably going to switch my phone to Cox because I am so angry over this. Looks like the "new boss is same as the old boss". Sprint to Embarq to Century Link. New names for the same old garbage. Wish I could get Prism TV without Century Link involvement.

Horrible, Awful Service & a Terrible Connection
Saturday, April 7th, 2012
Pro: None
Con: Connection Drops, Crap Customer Service
Wether I use the wi-fi on my laptop to send work e-mails, or watch a movie on our plugged in broadband connection, the internet connection is dropped every 15 minutes or so. I continuously log back in or unplug modem or... I call and spend over an hour on the phone with customer service about twice a month. They rarely respond, and have often closed the service request, saying "the problem is solved" without ever checking in with me. Avoid! Avoid! I am finally ready to pay the cost to switch to another provider.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!
Thursday, April 5th, 2012
Pro: None
Con: Customer service, online services
I automatically got switched over to Centurylink from Qwest and the customer service immediately changed for the worse. They changed my contract without telling me and put me in a 3 year lease that I didn't sign up for with Qwest. The website is terrible, logging in to a website to make a payment has never been so difficult. Internet runs slow. Customer service reps have no desire to keep their customers by the way the talk to you. I spoke with a RANDY who was the worst customer service agent I have ever spoken with and made it clear I was making the right decision to terminate my plan. I paid an early termination of $520 to get out... that's how terrible it is.

Con: Slow, unreliable, overpriced CRAPOLA!
If you don't mind using your internet between the hours of 12:00a-11:00a {usually when at work or asleep} then go for it! Other than that, this oversubscribed network will have you wanting to pull your hair out! It doesn't matter WHAT plan you pay for, expect less than 1.00Mbps during peak hours. Unlike for me, if there is another provider use them! Just check out their FB page for more horror stories.
