they are horrible. The only reason they get one star is because this review won’t print without it. My service went out and there was nothing they could do, they had no clue my service was ever out since all the green lights were on!! I switched to Comcast and things are 100% better!

I just received my first bill for DSL after the “introductory” $19.95 deal and at $66.00 it’s so far out of line it is truly laughable. A few days after DSL went live I started having problems with my phone service even with their supplied filters installed on all of my phone lines. Every time it rained, DSL dropout. For 12 months I had scratchy phone audio, and the few times service came to look at it the problems seemed to clear, that is until the next rain.
I don’t stream video or music as I have extensive DVD and CD collections so speed is not important, good thing too because at times the wait for a page to display was REALLY long.
I’m STUNNED to see so many 3 stars on reliability even though they complain about service dropping out.
At any rate, for $19 per month it’s usable for nearly $70 I can use my smart phone for most everything internet related I can even use it as a WiFi hotspot. Well I pulled the plug on their DSL and good riddance.

I have been limited to at&t dsl now in 2 rental home that included wifi. 2 hours apart and both are THE WORST, SLOW, CHOPPY service ever. Never use them. Just get over your beef with cable and use their net its 100 times better. At&t just ropes in old people who do not understand their bill is only 99 for the first year. But at&t does the same thing.

Be careful to see what you will have to pay for when signing up with AT&T. We switched to AT&T to get one gig of internet speed, also discussed no set up fee. When they came to install the speed was much worse then out previous provider (internet would keep searching and searching) so we complained next day. They came in to fix it as a “repair” and charged us $100 for it. How could they have a repair I am responsible for on a new set up?!?!? I called to complain and talk to several people – they claimed the charge was justified. I was never told I would be paying for “repair” so they explained that it is also called “instal charge” – ….”and since my set up documents DID NOT specify I WOULD NOT be paying for installation then they have a right to charge me for it !?!?!?…… “some customers manage to get it for free but I did not specify this so they should charge me” ?!?!?!?!? Makes no sense. What did I get myself into ?????

Slow Speeds, Being ripped off
Been paying for 12MBPS U-Verse internet through AT&T for over two years now. Just had a tech come to the house and inform me that I would never reach those speeds for my area. My actual speed would be around 7.2MBPS and that I should call AT&T and demand that they credit my account for the inflated price. Thats over $120 of savings … If my internet hadn’t gone down, i would’ve continued to payed to inflated price for Who Knows How Long.
Bad business from AT&T and I am now looking to cancel the contract and get TWC.

If AT&T can’t service DSL technology well enough to satisfy customers why would anyone give them more money for U-Verse, Gigapower, Connected Car, etc. ? Not only are they incapable of managing the technology their business processes, across the whole range from service repair to billing, are consistently torturous. If they could harness their ineptitude for “good” they’d be a great company!
Here’s a question: if AT&T systems can recognize your number when you call, why do you have to repeat it for every handoff to another rep? It would seem to be something a technology company could handle to pass that to every screen in frint of every rep. Further, why do I have to provide my a count number every time? Why not detect my number on the inbound call, look me up and never ask me for tedious details over and over and over. If they can’t solve that they’ll never manage more complicated tech well.

Regardless of being cheapest in our area for basic DSL, we have NEVER received the speeds we pay for AND AT&T continually raises our monthly rate! I can’t stand this company, but do NOT want to go to Charter…eek!

Routinely charge up to $49 in extra fees, pre bill for the next month and change bill due dates in order to charge fees. Service is fine, billing is the WORST and is an attempt to increase the overall cost of the service significantly.

The pony express was faster. terrible internet speed, a problem every 3-4 months that requires either a tech to come out and them sending new equipment. Lied to on several occasions. wireless service was out for a week, was offered a $5 credit? what ? 5 bucks? gee thanks ATT.

DO NOT GET THIS INTERNET!
When i first got this internet the only problem i had with it was that when ever i left my house and came back i had to re enter the password for my phone to connect to the wifi and the wifi on my phone could hardly load instagam. Than the internet started crashing almost every day, which i could put up with for a wile. After a couple weeks of dealing with these proplems my internet started slowing down to the point where i could hardly load netflix. By this point i had given up on trying to reconnect my phone to the wifi becouse even if i did i couldnt load anything.
Way to much money for speed
I have never been so dissatisfied with a company ever. First of all they give about 1.5mbs or so they say it winds up being more about .3mbs for the first 12 months the price is matched accordingly then recently they are trying to charge me 53 dollars for that speed… WHAT A JOKE! Not only is the speed terrible the internet is so unreliable at least 5 times a day my internet just randomly stops working saying DNS server is not responding, every single time I call them and complain about why I am paying so much and getting so little their only solution was to pay them even more money.. My advice to anyone searching for a provider is to avoid ATT all together unless you literally have no other options

My service is very slow but is relatively consistent without interruptions, for the most part. I have no alternative in my area. Billing, however, is a nightmare. I returned a piece of equipment which they lost. I had to track it down. Then they would not give me credit for it for almost 6 months. I was promised by the associate that the credit was applied only to have my service turned off several times. Then they charged me a $30 reconnect fee each time. Finally, last month, they credited the modem and reconnect charges. I will keep an eye on my bill, however, because you can’t trust anything they tell you over the phone. It’s like they are just there to sweet talk you but not actually have anything to do with the billing department. This is a major corporation run like a kintergarden.

OMG from Macon Ga….I know speed depends on how far you are from the TRUNK….but OMG this is painfully slow and they market this as Fast internet……… Waiting on UVerse High speed (not available here yet)I have had my last words with COX cable, $287 a month for whole home DVR that never worked and told them to get all of their crap out of my house. Funny, about 2 seconds after that heated conversation, I had no cable or internet and nor did they care to discuss it with a customer of 23 years. I need UVERSE (31220) if it’s any faster, but may have to bow back down to COX if UVerse doesn’t come to LWW in Macon soon,,,, I HATE COX CABLE>>>>>>>>>>

Customer service/Billing Rip offs/False Charges
Every month for about 3 to 4 months, I have been hit with overdue charges. The first couple of months I have received calls from AT&T about my billing accound, and or disconnected internet service. I called in and they told me about overdue charges and the SPECIFIC amount that is due, cool, I paid and SENT IN that EXACT amount. Next month the exact same thing again, I call in and they hit me with yet ANOTHER overdue balance. I specifically paid the exact balance for the previous month and out of nowhere they charge for whatever the heck they say i owe on just for their benefits. I am canceling my membership, obviously they are rip offs and i would NOT recommend anyone to switch or go with AT&T ever. Horrible and outraged.
Speed and reliability
The speed of AT&T internet is so slow. My husband couldn’t play the XBOX and I couldn’t be on the internet at the same time. AT&T couldn’t support it. You couldn’t watch videos without it buffering every few seconds, the video was never clear. We were told we couldn’t get anything faster because we didn’t live close enough to an AT&T office, even though we live less than a mile away from one. When I called to drop their service, it took almost a half an hour to do so because their computers were just that slow in uploading my information. So glad we cancelled.

Constantly having problems with the connection
I just canceled AT&T U-verse today. I’ve never had so many problems with cable or internet!! Constantly being disconnected and having to contact or have techs sent out. I still use the wireless service successfully and will continue with that unless I begin to experience problems there too, but, as of now, I’m looking for a new internet and cable company!
If you have more than a simple problem they blow you off they cancel appointments and say I’m sorry and say I’m sorry over and over

I started using AT&T internet services last week.I talked to a man named Jonathan who was very charasmatic and very nice. He told me to call back once I got my bill and they can waive the installation fee…Awesome! I thought…Call today because I recieved my bill.I first tried to do the live chat and take care of it that way. Alex B. Says the system is down and he can not help me. So I call the customer service line on my account. A very rude man comes on the phone and informs me he does not see anything on my account and he is in Florida so he can not help me. I call the EXACT SAME NUMBER back again and a moderately nice lady comes on the phone. She tells me again there is no notation of Jonathan telling me that. She goes on to tell me she is going to have to send in the information for investigation. How do I know she is actually going to do her job? Am I going to have to talk to some one who matters any time I need something done???
Nothing good about ATT
Very Slow, I paid high price for this terrible service. I called the support and it always say “experiencing problem with the services in the area”.
