I have used few internet service providers so far, att was the best.. but for past few months, its a mess. I pay for 18 mbps, which I never get. When I complain, It reaches up to 12 mbps for couple of days then again back to under 6 mbps and on weekends it drops to <2 mbps. I again have to call up support and go thru this entire process every week or 2. I have a 1 yr contract, so I believe I have to suck it up.. waste of money and time.

18 hours to download a six-minute video and that's with the "new" fiber optics cable and a "Pro" account! Daily disconnections even with my new laptop. Hrumph!

Feel like I am paying for service I am not getting. It is always blinking off so I can never finish an e-mail or work. Really slow and forget having more than one user. I am using my phone services just to write this because it doesn't work right now. Looking for a new provider NOW.

AT&T U-verse TV & Internet is the worst service I have had. After two and a half months, I learned today that I am unable to use my own modem. On three separate occasions AT&T customer service representatives told me that there was absolutely no reason that I couldn't use my own equipment. So I am now facing paying a termination fee because AT&T could not be honest upfront and tell me that I could not use my own equipment. Thank you, AT&T for lying to me on three separate occasions. Not only did you neglect to tell me I could not use my own equipment, but you actually told me the complete and absolute opposite of that. My experience has deterred me from ever being an AT&T customer again for the sole reason that I cannot fathom having to deal with them ever again; I absolutely hate AT&T.

There's a local internet service in my community, and everyone uses them, so I signed up and after 3 weeks was able to cancel service (whole other story). I then learned Uverse internet was available as well (would have been nice to know this beforehand), and signed up. Everything has been great so far. Service where I live is less than $30 a month for the 12 Megs down, and speeds are fairly steady at 11-12Mbps. Service did go down 1 evening (for the entire evening!) so I had to phone up, and found out it was an area outage. That's pretty annoying, but has been the only hiccup so far. They make you buy their modem (which is a cool 100 dollars or so) so I imagine most people are turned off by that, but considering service is so much cheaper than the alternative, it was worth it. I game on my PS3 and stream music at the same time, and never seem to notice lag. I've spoken with a few other people using Uverse and they've not had the same experience (they're too far from the service point?). I would say service is great so far. I'm expecting rates to eventually go up, but for now all is well. Jason

UVerse is THE WORST internet service i have ever had! the price is 14.99 a month or so they say... I looked on the website to see what my speed was: 3MBPS max! all the other packages are ridiculously expensive for how slow they are. Get this; Max Turbo speed 63.00$ a month, Max Download Speed: 24MBPS. OH MY THAT'S AMAZING-not. on a side note, I called one of the many days the service was down and to my surprise I was on hold for a half-hour, then when i finally got to talk to someone he didn't know what the hell i was talking about! he didn't know the service was down, when he asked for my account number i had to repeat it almost 8 time to him, and worst of all I tried to see if i could upgrade my package, he didn't know what a Megabit was! Do not- I repeat -DO NOT BUY THIS SERVICE!

Some of the other reviews here don't de ATT any justice at all, so here is mine I've been with ATT for almost 2 years now, and have also had experiences with the other major providers. In my opinion ATT far out-does them in quality and customer service. The only time I've needed to use their customer support was about 6 months ago after a flood in my area. ATT sent a technician the morning after at my request and got the problem solved right away.

I cannot say anything bad about AT&T. The package I have is an amazing price for the services I get. The TV is great and has a huge number of channels available. The only problem as mentioned above is that sometimes the internet can slow down because it uses the bandwith. I also LOVE the fact that I can also watch tv on my iPad with my AT&T app!!!

Having been with AT&T for 5 years and was happy with the service but we had to cancel due to moving to an area it was not offered. When I spoke to them to cancel I was told i would get my deposit back. Great! Then a few months down the line i recieved a bill for $200!! I phoned up and they said I wouldn't get my deposit back, but they won't charge me for the bill it was a mistake.... few days later the $200 is taken out of my account, when I called again they said it would take 30 days to be put back into my account!!!! Absolutely terrible service.

internet was never below 14.95 like promised. modem i had to buy for $150. customer service is pathetic. been on hold for 27 min before i got some moron who couldn't help me. internet network would crash at least once or twice a day for 5 min. i would never do business with these fools. no trust. don't do any contract believe me not worth it. they signed me up with permission fro some fax program and my bill was $9 more every month had to call and go thru hell to cancel.

The only decent thing about AT&T is that the customer service is decent. Other than that, I would NOT recommend using this ISP. We pay for high speed internet service but half the time, it feels like we are using dial up from all the unpredictable disconnections and the slow speed. The fact that they added a limit to their internet service (like 150 gb per month) does not help. Especially in family who heavily relies on uploading assignments for school and using netflix, and don't even get me started on the amount of times it has cut off when I am trying to turn in homework. If I lived in an area that offered Comcast, I would drop AT&T in a heartbeat. Sucks to only be able to depend on them when they make having their service so nerve-wrecking!

When I test the speed here I know I got rip from ATT. Only 5.44 Mbps while they said its 12 Mbps

AT&T wants $43.95 per month for their DSL service however advertises $19.95 for same service. They agreed to bill me $19.95. They have even confirmed that they agreed to $19.95 per month. It took an act of the "President's Office" to get them to honor the price. Then "billing errors" started and they reneged on price. I'll probably be switching to another carrier.

hate AT&T! always, every few mins will have a dropped connection then have to restart browser and refresh! really really bad! contract or now, going back to Insight and fast!!!

Constant dropped signal, painfully slow speed for a broadband connection. Nowhere near the claimed up/down speed. Customer support wait times are extensive. Reps try to be helpful, but generally don't know much more other that "reboot your modem". I've been in IT for 10+ years and have dealt with their issues on a professional level and personal. Stay away from all things AT&T.

Have just signed up to at&t dsl and I wish I hadn't. the connection keeps dropping out sometimes for hours at a time and trying to get a decent response from the support team is a joke, I'm trying for an upgrade wish me luck!

When I was looking to change my internet, tv and phone I discovered at&t uverse was available in my area. Is a great service and the fastest internet speeds I've had. However then they told us we would have a bandwith cap on our connection. Not only that but the billing department is a nightmare! When our contract is up I think I will be looking elsewhere.
