The Internet Education Foundation (IEF) has announced the launch of the first ever app that provides digital safety and security advice for wireless users.

The launch of the first ever app for wireless users providing information on digital safety and security has been launched by the Internet Education Foundation (IEF). The app has been developed with the help of Verizon and Google. With so many mobile broadband users and smart phone users being oblivious with regards to online security and safety, this app could prove to be extremely useful for many people.

As a result of using the app families and consumers can enjoy being more secure and safer when using their smart phone and broadband. User can learn more about online privacy, safety, and security issues using their Android tablet or smart phone. With the app users will be able to access advice that is delivered in easy to understand section, and which is practical and user friendly.

Content that is in the app is provided by a number of leading online safety organization, including Common Sense Media, ConnectSafely.org, OnGuardOnline.gov, and GetNetWise.org. It is thought that over time a rising number of online safety groups will be feeding through content for the app.

Rose Kirk, Verizon Foundation president, said: “Mobile broadband technology provides limitless opportunities for fun, education and entertainment for everyone.
