Some areas of South Carolina have been given access to the 3G mobile broadband network from communications giant AT&T recently, providing residents and businesses with far greater internet capabilities.
Communications giant AT&T has recently announced that it is making its 3G mobile broadband network available in some parts of South Carolina, and both residents and businesses in these areas will be able to look forward to a range of new opportunities when it comes to mobile devices and getting online.
The 3G network is being made available in Hilton Head and Bluffton, and will give many more people access to 3G mobile broadband services, which many consider to be vital for businesses in particular. AT&T offers the nation’s fastest 3G network, which will come as good news for those in the areas that have been keen to get onboard the mobile broadband wagon.
Rep. Bill Herbkersman (R-Bluffton) stated: “This investment in 3G wireless technology to enhance the wireless network in the Hilton Head and Bluffton area is a positive development for our region, especially in today’s economy. State leaders have worked hard to establish public policy that promotes business investment in South Carolina. This is an encouraging example of AT&T’s ongoing efforts to help drive growth and vibrancy in our communities through new and improved technologies.”
Jack Mitchell, regional director for external and legislative affairs at AT&T South Carolina said: “Demand for wireless bandwidth is growing, whether it’s for sharing video and photos with friends, watching a movie, checking the latest scores, or listening to music on a phone, netbook or other mobile devices on the go. With this expansion, our customers can enjoy the nation’s best, most advanced mobile broadband experience with emerging devices and tens of thousands of mobile applications.”
