According to recently released figures the number of Americans that are making use of mobile wireless broadband services is on the increase, with fifteen percent of Americans now thought to be using this technology.
Figures were recently released by the FCC showing that the number of Americans that were making use of mobile wireless broadband services was on the increase. The figures came from statistical reports that were put together by the FCC, which is preparing to submit its National Broadband Plan to Congress. The figures indicate that these numbers could continue to grow in the future, with more and more Americans enjoying the benefits of using mobile wireless broadband.
There has been a lot of recent coverage relating to reports that thirty five percent of Americans do not have access to high speed broadband services within the home, but these figures show that there are now many people that are using mobile wireless broadband through their laptops. As 4G technology continues to evolve a rising number of Americans, including both leisure and business users, are likely to opt for this technology, which allows for increased flexibility and convenience.
Officials have said that fifteen percent of Americans are now accessing the Internet on their laptops through mobile wireless broadband, and whilst this figure may not seem particularly high it was an impressive figure given that this is a relatively new technology. The data indicates that mobile broadband has been gaining popularity quite quickly and is likely to become more and more popular as it becomes increasingly accessible and affordable.
As part of the survey by the FCC consumers were asked if they used “a service with your laptop computer that is called wireless broadband, allowing you to access the Internet virtually anywhere? This is usually a service that you have to pay a monthly fee for, either by itself or as part of another communications bill. This is NOT what is called Wi-Fi.”
