Colleges expanding WiFi connectivity

With more and more students across the United States now using broadband and internet enabled devices colleges are said to be expanding their WiFi connectivity to meet demand.

These days students in America and many other countries around the world use one of a range of mobile broadband and internet enabled devices to get online, and this is ideal for those that want to enjoy the flexibility and freedom of being able to get online without being in a fixed location.

With internet services so valuable to students, as they are used for both educational assistance and for communication and entertainment, more and more people are using internet based devices, and this is something that college campuses around the country are now picking up on. In order to meet demand campuses are now extending their WiFi access to enable students to use their mobile broadband and internet devices more readily.

One of the universities that are looking to expand WiFi services for students is the California University of Pennsylvania, which is looking to provide free WiFi access to all students, faculty members, and employees. It is thought that this project could cost over two million dollars, but officials from the university are hoping that it will be completed within the year.

One university official said that WiFi access had become more and more important due to the increased use of internet enabled devices. He said: “As wireless devices have become dramatically more prominent, wireless access points become more and more important.”
