A new option for high-speed broadband internet access and an increase in its existing broadband connection in the Kingwood area, at no cost to the customer, has recently been launched by network operator, Suddenlink Communications.
Download speeds have now been increased and renamed to 1.5 and 10Mbps from the original broadband speeds of 1 and 8 Mbps, A super-fast broadband service called Suddenlink High Speed Internet 15.0 has been released. The upload speeds of the fastest services have also been increase to 1Mbps and 1.5Mbps for customers who use the 10.0 and 15.0 services.
The Kingwood area also saw the introduction of the new High Speed Internet MAX 20.0 service by Suddenlink recently. Upload speeds of up to 2Mbps and super-fast 20Mbps download speeds are available on this new service. The implementation of the very latest in industry technology, DOCSIS 3.0 has made it possible for Suddenlink to offer this service, which is the fastest in the area.
Customers will not be charged for the new technology that has been rolled out through the area and may occasionally experience download speeds in excess of 20Mbps.
The broadband modems used by customers of Suddenlink will also benefit from random “surveys” or “pings” that run on a rotating cycle thanks to this new technology. A temporary boost can be achieved by the modems that have been surveyed with an increase of up to 40Mbps, which allows the modem to perform it tasks much faster and this is because any extra bandwidth that is available is spread across the various surveyed modems. The bandwidth that is available when the modem survey is carried out and when the automatic process surveys each customer’s modem are just a few of the factors that Suddenlink advised would affect the level and the frequency of each customer’s “boosts”.
