High speed internet pushes US subscriber numbers

It has been announced that the desire for high speed internet services in the United States is leading to more and more people signing up to broadband.

These days simply having internet access is not enough for most people in the United States, and this is because the activities that people perform online these days requires far higher speeds than standard internet access. Some of these activities include gaming, streaming content, watching TV shows and movies, and other high bandwidth activities.

This means that more and more people are after high speed internet access, which means signing up to a broadband package. Officials have now said that this need for high speed internet has resulted in a rising number of people in the United States signing up to broadband services, and this figure is expected to grow.

According to reports the global broadband market will continue to grow over the next couple of years, and will start to mature in around 2004. However, as more and more greater bandwidth activities are taken up by internet users the need for high speed broadband will also grow, resulting in a greater number of subscribers.

One official said: “From 2007 through 2009, there was a continued growth rate of 25% in broadband subscribers worldwide. Though this is expected to slowly decrease to 10% by 2014 as the broadband market matures, there are still some substantial gains to be made. The Asia/Pacific region will continue to see very high growth rates, along with Latin America and the Middle East/Africa regions.”
