It has been revealed as part of a recent survey that many broadband users in the United States expect their websites to load up in the space of two seconds.
When it comes to broadband speeds in the United States most consumers are keen to get the best speeds that they are able to, as this can save them time, inconvenience, and frustration. According to a recent survey that was carried out many broadband users in the United States now expect their e-commerce websites to load up in the space of just a couple of seconds.
The survey was carried out by Akami Technologies, and the results of the survey showed that the performance of websites was a key factor when it came to the loyalty of online customers and the popularity of online sales. Usability, speed, and the content of websites were amongst the most important factors that were identified by users as part of the survey.
Nearly one thousand and fifty shoppers were polled as part of the survey, and the results showed that a whopping forty percent of shoppers were not prepared to wait for more than three seconds for a website to load up. The average time that was shoppers expected for a website to load up was two seconds according to the report.
Around sixty four percent of those polled as part of the survey said that they would prefer to go to another website if the one that they were using did not load up fast enough, Whilst the speed at which websites load can sometimes be connected to the broadband speed that the consumers has, in some cases it is all to do with the websites itself, with even those with faster speeds finding that some websites are very slow to load.
