Advisory council being formed to deal with broadband adoption

It has been revealed that a non-profit organization in the United States is setting up an advisory council to deal with broadband adoption in underserved areas.

For many people broadband is something that has become part of their business and personal lives, and is something that they use on a daily basis. Many of us have become so reliant on broadband that we have started to take it for granted, and it is only when there is a problem or outage that we realise how stuck we are without this technology.

However, there are many people and businesses that are in areas where broadband is not easily accessible and these are the people that have to struggle along without the aid of this technology for the majority of if not all of the time. However, one organization is hoping to make an impact on broadband access in underserved areas by forming an advisory council.

It has been announced that a National Technology Adoption Advisory Council is being set up by One Economy, which is a non-profit organization that focuses on ensuring broadband services are brought to communities that are underserved. Its aim is to promote “public and private sector solutions for increased broadband adoption.”

Many officials are said to be involved with the effort and a speech is to be made this coming week by U.S. Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra with a focus on the relationships between policymakers, government officials, and non-profit organizations. It is thought that there are already over eighty public officials that are involved in the effort.
