A recently released paper has advised that in order to provide commercial mobile broadband with more wireless spectrum the US Federal Communication should look at having government agencies give up some of their unused spectrum as well as TV broadcasters.
The study was recently released by a conservative think tank called the Technology Policy Institute (TPI) and its authors advised that the FCC would not be able to rely on the release of unused wireless spectrum from the just the TV stations and that there would be a need for much more spectrum if mobile broadband was to grow at the rate they expected. The recommendation from the study was for a new agency to be created to lease spectrum to individual government bodies, the Government Spectrum Ownership Corp. (GSOC).

A recent report has shown that a rising number of Americans are now reading their news online, which could mean increased risk for traditional print newspapers.
There was a time when reading the news involved heading to the local shops to pick up the morning paper or getting the paper delivered. However, advancements in technology have changed the way in which many Americans do many things, and reading the news is one of them. With many households in the United States now having access to broadband service a rising number of Americans have taken to going online to catch up on the latest news.

Whilst having broadband and internet access is of great benefit to consumers in the United States there are also dangers associated with the Internet that both adults and children need to be wary of.
There is no doubt that having access to the Internet and high speed broadband has benefitted families in the United States in many ways. For adults, this access means that they are able to get online to enjoy entertainment, read the news, shop, find and book services, look for jobs, and much more. For kids broadband gives them access to a wide range of educations resources and tools as well as entertainment opportunities.

Wireless network investment in the Washington area reached almost $775 million from 2007 and capital of over $1.1 billion has been invested by AT&T in its wireless and wireline broadband networks in Washington between 2007 and 2009 according to a recent announcement from the telecoms provider.
When compared to its 2009 investments AT&T expects to increase its capital investment in its wireless and wireline networks throughout the company by about 5 to 10 percent in 2010, which will bring its total investment to between $18 billion to $19 billion.

A software provider working in the pharmaceutical sector has detailed how it has been benefitting from experimenting with the 4G technology made available by Sprint.
It has been claimed by a software provider based in Philadelphia that it has really benefitted in a number of ways as a result of experimenting with the 4G technology that has been made available by Sprint. The software provider, Kayentis, works in the pharmaceutical sector, and said that its use of this technology had enabled it to benefit and improve in many different areas.

According to recently released figures the number of Americans that are making use of mobile wireless broadband services is on the increase, with fifteen percent of Americans now thought to be using this technology.
Figures were recently released by the FCC showing that the number of Americans that were making use of mobile wireless broadband services was on the increase. The figures came from statistical reports that were put together by the FCC, which is preparing to submit its National Broadband Plan to Congress. The figures indicate that these numbers could continue to grow in the future, with more and more Americans enjoying the benefits of using mobile wireless broadband.

In a new proposal that has been deemed as unrealistic by many companies specialising in telecommunication the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US has confirmed its intention to require that by 2010 all homes should be offered a minimum broadband connection from their broadband internet service provider.
According to the chairman of the commission Julius Genachowski the FCC wants to see broadband connections to 100 million homes capable of download connection speeds of 100Mbps to be provided by broadband services providers in ten years time.

An LTE (Long-Term Evolution) monitoring system that is similar to the Iris range of products and works on evolved packet core (EPC) networks has recently been launched by telecoms company Tektronix.
Amongst the products that will be included in the new LTE monitoring system from Telstra is a common platform that provides an integrated framework for any current or future applications all in one place, the new analyser applications and the GeoProbe G10, which is a new 10GE probe.

Despite the Internet becoming an integral part of many peoples lives a report has revealed that a massive one third of the United States does not use the Internet at all.
For many people in the United States having access to broadband internet is essential, and has become an integral part of both home and work life. Some businesses rely heavily on the Internet to conduct their operations, and even in homes across the United States the Internet has become something of another utility rather than a luxury, with households using broadband for everything from research and education to entertainment and shopping.

According to a recently released report from research group In-Stat the US saw an increase of 28 percent last year in broadband download speeds and a 16 percent rise compared to last year in broadband upload speeds.
The report, which was called “US Residential Broadband Speeds Accelerate” was based on a report released by In-Stat and shows an overall average speed of 7.12Mbps for broadband downloads throughout the US and a 2.42Mbps average upload speed. The largest gains to bandwidth was seen be cable modem and wireless broadband users in 2009 with cable subscribers enjoying broadband speeds that were almost twice as fast as those available to users accessing over fibre-to-the home services.
