Verizon is now selling Samsung Droid Charge for $299
If you have been waiting for Verizon’s Droid Charge from Samsung, wait no more! This powerhouse running on Verizon’s 4G LTE network looks like a speedy product.
Running on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and driven by a Cortex A8 1GHz Hummingbird processor, this smartphone should perform quite well for your multimedia chores.
Additionally, the Droid Charge can act as a Mobile hotspot serving up to ten 4G devices or five 3G devices. It also supports the popular 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi flavors.
And you can use it as a Kindle Reader if you have some eBooks on hand.
For those video monsters out there, the Droid Charge is loaded with features such as DivX 720p HD video recording and playback along with an HDMI output for displaying on an HD television. Add to this the Blockbuster Mobile Application and you can get full–length movies the same day they are released on DVD.
With 2 GB of internal and a 32 GB microSD memory card included, you will have plenty of room for your movies.
Jerry Hildenbrand of Android Central raves about the new display after getting his hands on one. Jerry says “…I have to say that the SAMOLED plus display is something that needs to be seen in person.”
Needless to say, you will need a two-year contract to get the $299 price.
