Verizon announces Samsung’s first 4G LTE smartphone the DROID Charge

Samsung’s first 4G LTE smartphone, the DROID Charge, will be available for purchase on April 28 from Verizon Wireless.

Verizon Samsung Droid Charge Verizon announces Samsung’s first 4G LTE smartphone the DROID ChargeThe smartphone has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display that is touted as the brightest display available.  It comes with two built-in cameras a rear-facing 8 Megapixel camera and a 1.3 Megapixel camera for video chats.

The 1 GHz processor combined with Verizon’s 4G LTE network and full HTML 5 support makes for a super-fast smartphone with download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps.

It comes running the Android 2.2 software and has support for Gmail, Google Maps, Google Search, Google Talk and YouTube.

Naturally, it has access to the hundreds of thousands of apps in the Android Market.

It has capability to share a 4G connection with up to ten WiFi devices or five WiFi devices using a 3G connection.

You will be able to but one of these for $299.99 with a new 2-year commitment.  You will also need to subscribe to a Verizon Nationwide talk plan in addition to a 4G LTE data package.
