Free Droids! Free Droids! Free Droids!

I never thought I would see this so soon, but the DROID X and the DROID 2 Global are being offered for FREE.  Yes, that is Zero, Zip, Nada, like a friend of mine says.

There is not even an activation charge.  Even better yet, there is no waiting to get reimbursed for anything!

Both of these smartphones are built by Motorola and happen to be running on the Verizon Wireless network.  Don’t go to Verizon’s web site, as you will not find this deal there.

CompUSA is the store offering these puppies for free.  While both DROID’s are good at this price, I will make a recommendation between the two.

The DROID X wins hands down.  It has a 4.3-inch screen vs. a 3.7-inch screen for the 2 Global.  I’ll admit that the Global 2’s processor is faster at 1.2 GHz compared to the X’s 1.0 GHz engine.  I mean, what’s 0.2 GHz among friends?

I’ll keep the X’s larger screen and the SWYPE on-screen keyboard over the pull-out keyboard and smaller screen of the 2 Global any day of the week.

I also like an 8 MP camera over a 5 MP one.  Plus, the X will record HD video  which is a lot better than the D1 video of the Global-2.
