Discover Money Messenger allows you to send money to anyone with your smartphone
If you have a mobile device and a Discover card, you can send money to anyone. All you have to do is go online and use the free Money Messenger. Discover has teamed up with PayPal to offer this new service.
You can send money to 60 different countries.
Here is how it works. You go to the Discover Money Messenger on your mobile device and send the money using the person’s email address and your Discover card will be charged that amount. The person who is to receive the money will have to sign up for a free PayPal account and will receive an email telling them the money is in the PayPal account.
They log into their PayPal account and transfer the money to their linked bank or credit card. The best thing about this is your friend or family member will not be charged anything for receiving the money.
If you transfer money to a business, PayPal will withhold their normal fee for the money transfer.
You must have a Discover card account in good standing and register for Money Messenger in the Discover Account Center. There are additional eligibility requirements and Business, Corporate and Titanium Discover cards cannot use the service.
So don’t try and use corporate funds to send money to your brother in Las Vegas.
