Black Friday sales of Apple’s iPhone 4S was unbelievable
The sales of Apple products were beyond just about everyone’s expectations. Most of Apple’s retail stores sold out of the new Apple iPhone 4S.
According to Deutsch Bank analysts, three-quarters of all the stores were out of stock by the end of the day. Even after restocking shipments on Saturday, 30 percent were out of stock at the close of business.
The stores sampled were 100 Apple retail stores and 100 AT&T, Best Buy, Sprint, Target, Verizon and Wal-Mart stores. Particular store chains had different averages of stock sales.
Around half of the AT&T stores sold out on Black Friday. Verizon also experienced high sellouts of the iPhone 4S. Not surprisingly, newcomer Apple sales partner, Sprint, managed to have enough stock to meet all their sales demand.
Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Whitmore and his team did the studies.
Additional data collection and analysis was performed by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. He discovered that iPad sales were a whopping 68 percent greater this year than they were on Cyber Monday 2010.
Gene calculated that a total of 14.8 iPads per hour in Apple stores were sold at the store level, which was a lot greater than last year’s 8.8 iPads per hour.
If you were unable to buy an Apple product during Black Friday through Cyber Monday, Please let us know the store and city when they were out of stock. Oh yea, please include what you were trying to buy.
