T-Mobile backs up claim the Samsung Galaxy S 4G is faster than an iPhone with cash

That’s right.  T-Mobile is putting their money where their mouth is by offering a cool $1,000.

T Mobile 1000 dollar challange 194x300 T Mobile backs up claim the Samsung Galaxy S 4G is faster than an iPhone with cashJust take your AT&T or Verizon iPhone into a participating store in Seattle, Washington.  The contest starts this Friday, April 29th and ends Sunday, May 1st.

Using a third-party app you will try to beat the Samsung Galaxy S 4G.

Best out of three wins and only the download speed is used in the contest.

T-Mobile definitely thinks the combo of the Galaxy S 4G and it’s HSPA+ network will out-perform an iPhone using an AT&T or Verizon network.  After all, T-Mobile is claiming they have the largest and fastest 4G network in the United States.

If you lose, don’t worry as you will not owe T-Mobile anything.  In fact, they will give you $300 credit for your old iPhone if you buy their Galaxy S 4G.

I would say that this is a cheap marketing ploy that is fixed.  No one will win the $1,000.

You see, T-Mobile is expecting the iPhone will be using AT&T’s or Verizon’s 3G network!

I see two sneaky ways how you could possibly win, although I do not support trying to defraud a carrier.  I am just presenting these ideas for a little humor (wink).

First, get a hundred or so T-Mobile smartphone users to stand outside the store and start downloading large files and streaming video.

The second possibility is to get hold of one of those experimental iPhones that use a 4G network.
