Verizon to open up 19 new markets to its new 4G LTE Network

On Thursday, June 16th, Verizon will heat up 19 new business markets with its advanced 4G LTE network.  Erie, Harrisburg and State College, Pennsylvania are among the areas to receive access to this fast network.

Verizon logo4 300x197 Verizon to open up 19 new markets to its new 4G LTE NetworkGreenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina and Dayton, Ohio will also benefit from Verizon’s plan to roll out 4G LTE to the entire United States.  The rest of the areas to be turned on tomorrow are: Fresno and Sacramento, California; Hartford, Connecticut; Boise, Idaho; Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, Indiana; Flint, Grand Rapids and Lansing, Michigan; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Salt Lake City and Ogden, Utah; Spokane, Washington; Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

This 4G LTE expansion will make a total of 74 metropolitan markets that Verizon Wireless serves.

In addition to these new installations, San Francisco, California and Detroit, Michigan will have their 4G LTE networks expanded for a larger area of coverage.

The Chief Technical Officer of Verizon Wireless, David Small said “We are aggressively expanding our 4G LTE network: by the end of 2013 we plan to bring 4G LTE mobile broadband to our entire 3G coverage area.”

Most of Verizon’s customers in these areas will not see and difference since they will still have 3G devices.  Verizon customert that have purchased the HTC ThunderBolt, the LG Revolution and the Samsung DROID Charge will definitely notice a ten-fold speed difference when they wake up tomorrow.  Also customers that have bought the MiFi® 4510L 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot and the Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot will see dramatic increases in the network speed.
