Air Live has 2 Watt high-power Wi-Fi router for 1.6 mile connection
Imagine needing a remote data connection 1.6 miles away that has to be installed today. You can do it if you have Air Live’s N.Power wireless router.
The specs are pretty impressive with an output power of 2 watts using the included indoor antenna. Just two of these routers, one in the client mode and the other in the access point mode, and you have a connection that has been tested for 1.6 miles in open space.
If you requirements are not that severe, the output power is adjustable from 12dBm all the way to 30dBm. At maximum power the N.Power is around 20 times more powerful than a normal Wi-Fi router.
Another feature is that it has a passive POE (Power Over Ethernet) port that allows you to mount the unit in areas inaccessible to power such as ceilings. If you do not have a switch that has POE, a POE injector is available – just plug it into a power source and connect your Ethernet cables to the switch and the N.Power router.
The router has four operating modes. It can function as a normal router to share your broadband connection and also as am access point with a repeater to extend an existing Wi-Fi network. Additionally it can also bridge two separate networks and finally as a client to connect to another N.Power unit in AP mode to get that maximum 1.6 mile connection.
This would be great for sharing your internet connections with your neighbors if you are inclined to do that sort of thing.
It also has a USB connection so you can attach a storage device and allow FTP sessions to share files wirelessly like the latest pictures of your dogs. The FTP sessions can be open or password protected to keep unauthorized eyes from seeing your pics.
